The Alliance for Positive Health (formerly known as the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York) first opened its doors in 1984 at the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis. During a time when stigma was at an all-time high, the Alliance for Positive Health was actively offering assistance and information to anyone facing HIV/AIDS. The Alliance for Positive Health was an advocate for those affected by this disease and stood firm in its mission to reduce the impact and incidence of HIV/AIDS.
35 years later, the Alliance for Positive Health is still standing strong in its mission, expanding to provide services to people living with various types of chronic conditions. While new HIV infection rates in Northeastern New York have decreased, advanced therapies mean individuals with HIV/AIDS are living longer and the number of people who depend on the services of the Alliance for Positive Health continues to grow.
In honor of its 35th Anniversary, the Alliance for Positive Health has set a fundraising goal of $35,000 to ensure it is able to continue providing crucially needed program services.
